Nearly 25 years ago, Alice Gustafson, wife of John Gustafson (owner of the World Famous End Café on Huntington Beach Pier), opened her own establishment, Alice’s Breakfast in the Park. With a collector’s eye and an inherent knowledge of what people look for in a dining experience, Alice has created a unique and cozy dining experience.

Located, or we may even say, secreted, in Huntington Beach’s Central Park West, guests can experience a delightful breakfast and lunch from a menu that starts with basic eggs, bacon and home-fries to plate-sized omelets, delectable salads and sandwiches made on breads that are baked daily in the restaurant’s own bakery.

“World famous” for the Outrageous Cinnamon Rolls, baker (and daughter) Mary Beth, also tempts your taste buds with generously portioned muffins. Choose blueberry, pumpkin, apple streusel or orange pecan with your coffee.

The bakery also features homemade cookies – BIG ONES! You can get chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin cookies or snickerdoodle cookies for desert. For a real treat, try one of Mary Beth’s scrumptious Ghirardelli chocolate brownies.

Along with great food for reasonable prices, you will have a visual experience that will be hard to forget. The restaurant is filled with collectibles acquired of the years that will delight the young and not-so-young.

From the dining room window you can see the lake and its assorted wild life. After dining, pick up a bag of duck food and wander outside to feed the ducks and geese that have taken up residence in the park.

Alice’s Breakfast in the Park also features outside patio seating on weekends (weather permitting).

Alice’s does not take American Express (or any other credit, debit or ATM cards), so bring the “green stuff” and enjoy a great dining experience in the park!
